White with One September

Image
For September the colour challenge at White with One is Teal Sea. I found an older photo of Michelle looking cute.  :) I used a mixture of modelling paste and Snow Cone gelato and put that on the sign in the top left corner.  Some flowers and and other embellishments added to the page. Lots of lovely teal on the page.

White with One August

Image
Still not doing much scrapping but got one layout done this month. The colour choice for August at White with One is Sunny Yellow. I found some old photos of me at the park with my teddy bear in a yellow tshirt, so decided to scrap them. A large scalloped yellow background paper, some plants with painted yellow butterflies, clouds with numbers and an open door. The butterflies have little beads on them which are from a diamond painting I had done and had plenty of leftovers from, my new crafty addiction.  :)

White with 1 May

Image
The colour for May is Gerbera Petal, a pink/red colour. Even though I left this til the last minute (last day of the month!) this was an easy enough colour to scrap. At the retreat last month I got the Kaisercraft Rose Avenue kit, which had just the right colour in it. I used a sketch I found online and was able to put this together quickly. Not the best photo as it's taken at night, and the title is a bit easier to read in real life.

Kraft + May

Image
The challenge at Kraft + for May is called It's A Date.  The date needs to be easily seen on the creation. I chose this photo and then searched for the date as the photo is a few years old.  :) I used the inside of a piece of patterned paper, the outside frame had been used on another layout. I matted the photo, added a saying and stamped the date.  I put a chipboard circle inked in brown and then a new die I recently got around that. A simple layout late in the month, hopefully my mojo will be back more next month.

White with 1 April challenge

Image
The colour for the month of April is Toffee Crunch, a nice light brown colour. I flicked through some of my older photos and found this one, from a camping trip my husband and I went on back in 2009.  Looking at other photos from the same day, I still can't figure out where we were at the time we took the photo!! We were on a lovely beach, water flowing down the sand and we found these little bird feet marks in the sand. I have used some stamping and stenciling, some burlap behind the photo and chopped up some letters to get the ones I needed!  :)

Kraft + April challenge

Image
The challenge for April at Kraft + is a recipe challenge.  Something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue. It came at just the right time as I was away at a scrapbooking retreat in the middle of April, plenty of time to make something and "borrow" from a friend. I used our favourite wedding photo and a sketch from a friend at retreat. Something new is the papers and red roses. Something old is the letters. Something borrowed are the gates and use of the border punch used on the brick paper. Something blue is the flowers and butterflies. Was very happy to get some help from two very knowledgeable ladies at retreat to help make this come together.

The Paper Teapot March Challenge

Image
The challenge for March at The Paper Teapot is to use the Tic Tac Toe board to create with. A line up or across or diagonal.  Or if you are like me, you can use all the squares!! On my layout are: circles, stencil, enamel dots, a paper clip, a camera, die cuts, water colour (on the stencil), a tag and blue (on the stencil and the doily). The photo is of me when I was younger, maybe 2 years old.

Kraft + March Challenge

Image
This month the challenge at Kraft + is to follow the sketch and add fussy cutting onto your layout. I don't often do fussy cutting, it takes time and a bit of skill, and something to cut out! I've had a piece of beautiful 49 and Market paper in my stash for almost a year now.  So pretty but I never knew how to use it.  When I saw this challenge I figured it out. I cut the frame from the middle of the paper and used that over the photo.  I fussy cut the two bits on the sides of the frame and popped them up. I also cut out the rest of the flowers and leaves on the paper to add to the layout. So much cutting but such a pretty layout of a wee cutie with her spiky hair.

White with One March

Image
The colour challenge for March at White with One is Crispy Lettuce, lots of lovely fresh green colours. I used two cute photos of Chelsea wearing my headband, makes her look much older than 2 years old.  I like the darker green of the wall beside her against the lighter greens I used. I managed to use some scraps of green I have and struggled with a title as many of the green alphas I wanted to use were gone, so a little title is best.

White with One February

Image
The colour for February at White with One is Sizzling Pink. Having two girls to scrap I have plenty of pink but not much that sizzles so much of the layout is more soothing than sizzling. I decided once I saw that it was pink, that I wanted to use some of the many pink buttons I have in my stash, so I have made a circle of them, alternating light with dark. I recently got some lovely chipboard swirls and inked them pink, but realised it was too light.  So I found a sizzling pink nail polish and used that instead.  Sometimes you have to think outside of the box to get the colour you want!!

White with One January

Image
First layout of 2018 and its only the 2nd.  :) White with One's colour challenge for the month of January is Bayou Blue, a good start to the year as my favourite colour is blue. I took inspiration from a magazine I found hiding in a draw, flipping through the pages I saw an amazing layout and this is my attempt to recreate it. I also used some things that have been sitting in my stash for a while.
